The Ultrasone HFI-2200 headphones are a set of home theater over-ears currently available for $300. Their aesthetic is a bit different from the usual monochrome of today's headphones, but if you want under-stated and different, the HFI-2200s will meet your needs. The HFI-2200 headphones also have an interesting trick: they can fold up into themselves. This is great to minimize their size for travel, and also for DJs who want to mix with one ear.
DJs might not like the HFI-2200s' audio quality, however. The bass was a bit loud and showed quite a bit of distortion. Also, anything around 7 kHz -- such as spoken/sung sibilance or the attack on some drums -- will sound very weak. These headphones also have poor isolation and leakage control, although in a home theater environment these scores don't have much bearing. Users might also not think the HFI-2200s se headphones are very comfortable.
Overall, for $300, the Ultrasone HFI-2200 headphones seem a bit weak. At this price point there are a lot of headphones that can outperform the HFI-2200 in terms of audio quality, comfort, or both.

The Good |
The Bad |
| Tour & Design |
Sturdy plastics used, probably appropriate for use in an office environment.
|
They look a bit 70s.
|
| Performance |
The headphones had good tracking.
|
Lots of low-end distortion, really under-emphasized high-end, bad isolation, and a good amount of leakage. Not good. |
| In Use |
The cord is ridiculously long. Unless you live in a palace, the HFI-2200s can connect you to your system.
|
They're not particularly comfortable and not portable.
|
| Value & Comparisons |
If you can get these headphones on sale, you might want to consider them.
|
These headphones are very overpriced for what they offer. |
