Sennheiser and the House Ear Institute are teaming up to bring us the Sound Partners Teen Hearing Conservation Initiative. The SPTHCI, which isn't the most catchy abbreviation, will educate teens on the importance of not ruining their hearing with overly loud music. The initiative's tag line is "It's How You Listen that Counts," but really should be, "Seriously, How Do You Think Hearing Loss Even Happens?" The spokesthing for the SPTHCI is a giant ear, and much of the content seems to hinge on the pun, "Be an ear bud." Honestly, we're not sure what the best way of reaching teens is nowadays, but we're pretty sure it's not bad puns and giant mascots.

As an aside, we think the giant ear mascot is absolutely terrifying. Just look at it. It's like a Hans Belmer piece in Converse.

Still, we wish the HEI and Sennheiser luck in helping future generations skate around Darwinism.
