Value & Comparisons

The Sennheiser MM50 iP headphones are a great deal for cell phone users, iPod users, or people just looking for a portable set of headphones. They have great audio quality, are very portable, and are cheap. In terms of bang for your buck, they’re one of the best headphones we’ve reviewed thus far.

Comparisons
V-MODA Vibe Duo

The MM50 iP headphones make the Vibe Duos look very over-priced. At the same price, the MM50 iPs offer far better audio quality, although it might come at the cost of flashy aesthetics. Really, unless you’ve fallen in love with the look of the Vibe Duo, we’d recommend the MM50 iPs over them.

Denon AH-C351

The Denon AH-C351s are a good deal. For $50, they’re solid headphones within a price range entry-level users won’t balk at. If you’re willing to spend the extra $50, however, the MM50 iPs will be quite an upgrade. If you’re buying on a budget, or want headphones to wear to the gym, the AH-C351s might be a better pick: their short cord lets them hook up to an arm-mounted media player. If you have a cell phone or want better quality, the MM50 iPs are a better bet, if a slightly bigger investment.

Apple iPod In-ear Headphones

The iPod headphones are inexpensive, but they’re also not particularly usable. They may cost $30, but they’re always on the verge of falling out. They also aren’t the most durable headphones we’ve seen. If you’re really on a budget, they’ll get you through the day, but if you can make the $100 investment, your iPod/iPhone will thank you for it.

Etymotic Research ER6i

The 6isolators have far better sleeve options and isolate better than the MM50 iPs. This being said, the 6isolators cost more money and, while their audio quality is good, the MM50 iPs’ audio quality is better. If isolation is really important to you, the 6isolators trump pretty much everything out there, and do so relatively cheaply. If you can get by with above average isolation and not as many sleeve options, the MM50 iPs are a better buy.
